The Nigerian government has said Aero Contractor Airlines would be sanctioned, if guilty of safety violations by offloading its passengers through a ladder while exposing them to hazards. Pictures from the strange occurrence emerged on Saturday at the Bauchi Airport, in Bauchi state. The junior minister for aviation, Hadi Sirika, through a press aide spoke the government position. James Odaudu, deputy director, press and public affairs of the aviation industry, said the minister felt the incident violated standards prescribed by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARs) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS). He added that the incident would be investigated to know why the airline used an unauthorised equipment.
