Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor, has finally sent names of eleven commissioner-nominees to the state house of assembly for confirmation.
This was contained in a statement released by the state government on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the names of the commissioner-nominees include: Oluwole Osamudiamen Iyamu, SAN; Professor. (Mrs.) Obehi Akoria; Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe; Osaze Ethan Uzamere and Monday Osaigbovo.
Others are: Marie Edeko Esq.; Joseph Eboigbe; Moses Agbukor; Isoken Omo; Andrew Emwanta and Mrs. Otse Momoh-Omorogbe.
Obaseki also announced the appointment of two aides; Crusoe Osagie as Special Adviser on Media Projects and Serah Esangbedo as Special Adviser, Strategy, Policy, Projects and Performance Management.
While the appointment of the special advisers is to take immediate effect, “the commissioner-nominees will await screening and confirmation from the Edo State House of Assembly.”
The governor has been heavily criticised for refusing to appoint commissioners since he was sworn in for a second term in office on November 12, 2020.
