A fire gutted a Bus Rapid Transportation (BRT) vehicle in the Idi-Iroko area of Lagos State on Monday.
Newsbreak learnt the incident occurred just before midday just before Anthony Bus-stop.
The bus was en route to TBS terminal, Lagos Island, from the Ikorodu terminal when the incident occurred.
It was gathered that at least 45 passengers were evacuated from being engulfed by the inferno.
The initial vehicle conveying the passengers had broken down at the Owode area of Ikorodu Lagos when the replacement vehicle, which then got burnt, came to pick the stranded passengers.
No passenger died, but some sustained varying degrees of injuries while trying to escape
Vehicular movement was standstill as a result of the accident, as traffic gridlock stretched from Anthony to Maryland as of the time of filing this report.
Emergency service officials have been deployed to extinguish the fire.
