Corpses of victims of an accident, in which a passenger bus plunged into Arun river in Ogbere Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, have been recovered. It was gathered that it took men of the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the National Emergency Management Agency before the vehicle could be removed from the river.
The state commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Adetunji Adegoke, said the bus had been travelling from Idumota, where the 18-seater bus is believed to have been loaded with goods, before it plunged into the river. He also said the bus had been carrying five passengers whose corpses have all been recovered.
Police Public Relations, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command had mobilised Divisional Police Officer, Area Commander as well as loocal divers and command Marines to the scene before the bus was recovered.
