Alex Badeh, a former Chief of Defence and Naval Staff, who was recently murdered, will be buried on Wednesday next week, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced.
Brigadier General John Agim, the acting Director of Defence Information, made this known in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the DHQ, activities lined-up for the interment of the former defence chief will begin on Sunday with the Service of Songs scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Air Force Base Protestant Church in Abuja.
The statement noted a church service is expected to hold at the same venue on Wednesday.
The former defence chief would then be buried later that same day at the National Military Cemetery in the nation’s capital.
Badeh, a retired Air Chief Marshall, was killed by gunmen who attacked his vehicle while he was returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road in December 2018.
He became the 18th Chief of Air Staff in October 2012, and was appointed Chief of Defence Staff in January 2014, until his retirement in July 2015.
