A former governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Yero, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter sighted by Newsbreak Nigeria, he notified the ward chairman of Kaura Ward, Zaria Local Government of his resignation.
He said, “with grateful to almighty Allah, I write to extend my sincere greetings and to formally inform you of my decision to leave the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)
“In view of this, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect from 30th September 2023.
“Enclosed herewith, is my Party Membership card duly returned.”
Yero served as the governor of Kaduna State from 2012 to 2015, following the death of Patrick Yakowa in a helicopter crash
