Funke Akindele Speaks On Being Figurehead Lieutenant

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, says she is not going to be a figurehead lieutenant to Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor.

Akindele was recently unveiled as the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governor candidate in respect of the 2023 election.

It is her first involvement in politics, and she said if the PDP is successful in its bid to unsurp the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023, she will take crucial decisions with Jandor.

“I am not a figurehead. We are going to talk about it together. We are going to take the decision together. I am coming in for the women, the children and the youth,” Akindele said in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday night.

“Anything to make life easier for them, to empower the young people, I will do it. And I will be listening. We are doing it together (with Jandor).”
