Activists in Gambia on Monday said they will launch international campaign to bring former dictator, Yahya Jammeh to justice.
The groups said Jammeh, who now lives in Equitoria Guinea on exile, must answer to crimes of extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions, and enforced disappearances committed during his regime.
The campaign will be supported by Fatoumatta Sandeng, a prominent member of an international Non-Governmental Organisation. Sandeng had accused Yahya Jammeh of killing her father, Solo Sandeng, in April 2016, when he was arrested by the National Intelligence Agency.
Jammeh, a former dictator, ruled the Gambia for 22 years. A regional coalition forced him into exile in 2017 when he changed his decision to handover power after losing the presidential election to incumbent, Adama Barrow.
