Prince Godswill Edward, son-in-law of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Edward, who is popularly known as Prince 7, on Wednesday, decamped to the APC with his supporters at Usumutong/Abeugo council ward in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The Director-General, Conference of APC Support Groups, Obidike Chukwuebuka, who was present at the defection ceremony, congratulated Edward on his decision to abandon the PDP.
Chukwuebuka described the politician’s move as a victory for the APC in the South-south region of the country, adding that it is a confirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s quality leadership style.
“Our president has yet again been vindicated by the crucial entry of key political figureheads in Cross River state that our president has the popular support and hearts of the Nigerian people, especially those of the South-south,” he said.
