Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia State Governor, has dissolved the management board of state-owned Nigeria Professional Football League sides, Enyimba International and Abia Warriors.
In a press statement released and signed on Saturday by Enyinnaya Appolos, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, the dissolution is with immediate effect.
However, reasons behind the decision was not disclosed in the statement.
The board of the two clubs are reported not to be the only affected one, as the dissolution was across all corporations owned by the state .
Ikpeazu is expected to form a new cabinet after May 29, and it is not clear if Felix Anyansi and Emeka Inyama will retain their positions as the chairman of Enyimba and Warriors respectively.
