A 68-year-old Russian woman, Tamara Samsonova, has admitted killing 11 people, the Daily Mail reported. The serial killer, nicknamed ‘Granny Ripper’ kept a diary of the gruesome murders and was suspected to have eaten some body parts removed from the people she killed. Samsonova was said to have chopped off her victims heads, arms and legs. The lid was blown off Samsonova’s grisly murders after CCTV cameras caught her removing the body of her latest victim, Valentina Ulanova, 79, from a black plastic bag near her home in St. Petersburg. . She was said to have given Ulanova overdose sleeping pills before dismembering her body with a hacksaw while she was still alive. She was a carer to Ulanov and told police they had had a quarrel over unwashed cups. The police say they have suspicion she was responsible for the different decapitated bodies discovered around the city over the years giving the entries Samsonova made in her murder diary.
After being remanded in custody, she told journalists: ‘I knew you would come… It’s such a disgrace for me, all the city will know.’ Later she blew a kiss to reporters. When judge Roman Chebotaryov asked her to address the court, she replied: ‘It’s stuffy here, can I go out?’
She then added: ‘I was getting ready to this court action for dozens of years. It was all done deliberately… There is no way to live. With this last murder I closed the chapter.’
The judge said: ‘I am asked to arrest you. What do you think?’ She replied: ‘You decide, your honour. After all, I am guilty and I deserve a punishment.’ When he announced she would be held in custody, she smiled and clapped her hands.
