Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Thursday abducted two nurses at the Idon General Hospital in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Dr. Shingyu Shamnom, the hospital’s Medical Director, who confirmed the incident, said that the bandits stormed the general hospital through the fence with deadly weapons.
He said the bandits shot sporadically in the premises of the hospital and went away with the two nurses who were on night duty after they identified themselves as medical workers..
“When we heard gunshots, we remained at our various homes, until a call was put through to us that it was kidnappers that invaded the hospital, only to discover that two of the nurses on night duty have been taken away by the bandits.
“The kidnappers went away with a phone of one of the staff whom we thought was also kidnapped but he later returned,” Leadership quoted the doctor as saying.

He said investigation was ongoing on the matter and urged people in the area to remain calm.
This is coming two days after unknown gunmen invaded Greenfield University, a private universityin the state, killed one staff member and kidnapped about 23 students.
