Unknown gunmen, on Saturday, invaded the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) staff quarters in Kaduna and abducted 11 persons.

According to Daily Trust, sources at the FAAN staff quarters said the gunmen breached the security at the facility through the perimeter fence in the early hours of the day and abducted people from two families.
The attackers were said to have engaged security agents in the area in a shootout, before escaping with their victims.

The newspaper said a pilot who lives in the staff quarters said communities around the quarters have faced increasing security challenges, with abductions taking place frequently.
The pilot said this is the first time gunmen breached the FAAN property.
He stated that a staff of the agency with his wife and four children were abducted, while five others were kidnapped from another family within the quarters.

“I can’t say whether they came on motorcycles or not, but we know that they came through the air perimeter fence.
“Right now there are security agents all over the area and we are trying to get all the details,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State police command has not confirmed the development.
