Unknown gunmen have kidnapped three worshippers, after attacking a Cherubim and Seraphim church at Oba Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The attackers were said to have stormed the church during a vigil in the early hours of Sunday, and abducted three members of the church identified as Ifeoluwa Alani-Bello, Adebare Oduntan and Mary Oliyide.
According to Daily Trust, sources close to the victims’ families said the kidnappers are demanding N6 million ransom.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the police command, the confirmed the incident.
He said the anti-kidnapping unit of the police command has been dispatched to the area to rescue the victims.
eOyeyemi reiterated the command’s warning to religious bodies against holding vigil or prayer session in isolated areas that would expose their members to kidnappers.
