Gunmen on Friday attacked a police station at Ikolaba area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

A corporal on duty was shot dead in the attack.
Some other police officers were said to have sustained injuries in the incident which took the policemen by surprise.

TheCable reports that Gbenga Fadeyi, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident but did not give details.

He said policemen had been deployed in the area and normalcy has been restored.
