Gunmen have reportedly abducted Wakili Damina, Kogi State chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
The state secretary of MACBAN, Adamu Abubakar, told journalists on Tuesday that Damina was kidnapped on April 30, by armed men numbering about eight and dressed in army camouflage.
He said the armed men came in a white bus at about 12:00pm to “forcefully” take away Damina from his house at Chikara village in Kogi Local Government.
Abubakar added that he was informed of the incident an hour later by the younger brother of the chairman, who claimed to have witnessed the incident.
“Since then, his lines are not reachable and all efforts to know his whereabouts proved abortive,” he stated.
He stated that the commissioner of police has been informed of the incident by MACBAN members, who had created search parties to find Damina to no avail.
The state commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, said details of the attack is still unclear.
Ayuba claimed that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area said the matter was not officially reported to him.
