Some gunmen have killed one person and abducted two others including a retires Major of the United States Army along Ijan Ekiti-Ise Ekiti Road in Gbonyin Council area of Ekiti State on Tuesday.

Jide Ijadare, the retired soldier, was said to have been abducted from his palm oil-producing factory along the road by bandits numbering about seven while one person was shot dead.

This came less than two days after gunmen killed David Jejelowo, a director in the Ekiti State Local Government Commission, in his house at Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Sunday Abutu, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident. He said Tunde Mobayo, the Commissioner of Police, has drafted policemen to comb the bushes in a bid to rescue the kidnapped persons.
