Unknown gunmen have abducted a local government supervisor in Ekiti State.
This comes one week after a monarch in the state was abducted by gunmen who invaded his palace.
Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti Police Command, confirmed the latest abduction to journalists on Friday.
According to Abutu, the Supervisor of Ekiti West Local Government was kidnapped on Thursday evening while driving towards Erijiyan Ekiti, a town within the local government.
His car was reportedly left beside the road as he was whisked away by the abductors.
Abutu assured that the state police command will ensure the rescue of the politician and sustain efforts to rid the state of kidnappers and other criminals.
