Residents were said to be going about their normal activities when gunshots reverberated in the area.

Daily Trust reports that all roads around the police command have now been barricaded and residents have been ordered to return to their homes.

The newspaper said a top police source in Aba disclosed that security operatives had received intelligence that the gunmen who unleashed terror on security formations in Imo State were on their way to Aba area command.
