Satguru Maharaj Ji, a popular spiritual leader in Nigeria, has urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to stop its alleged witch-hunt of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Newsbreak.ng reports that Maharaj Ji made the call on Thursday in a statement by one of his media aides, Ojo Mogbadewa.

Maharaj Ji said the allegations of terrorism against the CBN governor were unfounded and were an attack against him by aggrieved politicians for making monetary policies that stopped their plans to rig the 2023 elections.

“Emefiele is being hunted down by powerful forces due to the recent monetary policy including the cash withdrawal limit policy introduced by the CBN.

“We know that right from the inception of the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari, the cash that should be in circulation is being taken out of the economy by people whose identity we don’t know, but are being aided by the western powers,” the spiritual leader said.
