Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed Chief Hyacinth Ajon, a traditional ruler and one Benjamin Anakula in Tse Zoola, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.
The armed herdsmen were said to have attacked the community without any provocation, according to Leadership.

But according to one Aho Zoola, the eldest man in the community, he insisted that the villagers have never had any issue with the herdsmen, even when their herds grazed on their crops.
He said: “There was no provocation whatsoever, we were all asleep, the Herdsmen just came and open fire on the villagers this was about 2 am people started running into the bush for safety but they ended up killing two people.”

Samuel Ortom, Governor of Benue State, has sympathised with the villagers displaced from their homes and assured them that he would do everything possible to get security agencies to the area.
