Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder of Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has advised the Kwara State Government and the Muslims to leave Christian Schools in the state for the owners.

He asked Muslim parents to look for hijab-wearing schools for their children to attend.

The cleric said this in a viral video while reacting to the hijab controversy that has lingered on between the state government and missionary school.

The Kwara State government had in February directed female Muslim students to be wearing the Muslim head veil to schools owned by the state, but that directive was countered by some Christian schools which led to the shutting down of the affected schools.

However, after series of consultations by the state government and religious leaders, it was agreed that the affected schools be reopened to enable students in Senior Secondary class (SS3) to prepare for their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Although, some of the missionary school were adamant saying hijab will not be allowed in their schools.

The cleric said: “It is such a nasty development in Kwara state where Muslims are asking their students in our schools to wear Hijab, and the church said “no”

“I have never seen a place in my life where a tenant will be decreeing for the landlord…you know the reason why? We have never shown the world the other side of God.

“God is not a toy. Our God is a consuming fire, let us show them the consuming fire of God, they need to know.

“Leave the schools for the owners, go to your schools, is there any fight? Stop putting fingers in the eyes of others.

“The church is a time-bomb when God turns his back on anybody or any system, that system is grounded.”

“My advice is, leave the schools for the owners, find your schools…men and women can wear hijab there.. Stop putting your fingers in the eyes of others when they are not blind.”
