In an interview with Daily Trust on Saturday, he disclosed that the romantic journey with his wife started when she was still studying at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, in Katsina State.

“We met in the United Bank for Africa. I asked her for a pen in order to fill some documents, and when I was done, deliberately did not return it to her.

The comedian, who was born in Katsina but hails from Anambra State, said Tagwaye in Hausa means twins, so he decided to adopt it as his stage name.

“My twin brother is still alive so I chose to go by the name Tagwaye,” he also said.

He was a classroom teacher for over seven years before going into comedy.
