Lagosians have complained of extortion by local government traffic enforcement units in the state.
Jubril Gawat’s narration of his exchange with some members of the unit in the Sabo, Yaba area of the state, caused many others to narrate their ordeal in the hands of the units.
Gawat is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media.
They collected 15k from me before they release my plate number. One was even saying even if I know Chairman, there is nothing he can do.

This same stuff is happening in Ikotun day in day out, even with a branded local govt shirt and they make use of the local govt sec,to obtained people of their hard earned money they were cut last year ,but are fully back to work now even towing vechicle

There are some @ Ojota under-bridge as well, illegal work in broad daylight, and they target private cars. I’ve seen them more than once. If you mistakenly wind down or slow down, they immediately take advantage and try to open your door. Don’t know if they’re still there now tho

I get all there hang out…unilag road immediately u turn off to face onike road there is a squad there waiting to catch one way people or lure then into one way and others will get them…they also disturb bike men and sometimes they work hand in hand with VIO guys around there.

Does guys are in all local government. I doubt if the chairman will denies he/she doesn’t know about them. That was how some fools removed my plate number from surulere local govt for parking in front of the local govt, where I went to collect my drivers license.

They also have location at unilag Road just by Atan cemetery, they collected 45k from a friend last year Dec 24, after claiming govr task force, they took him to local govt and bla bla.. Good work bro

They ask for both state and local govt docs if any is missing penalty is 10k and it goes into individual pockets. The chairman and vice are in the know because those vehicles are towed into the secretariat. Infact they have target they must meet.
