Veteran footballer, John Fashanu has lamented the role of the Nigeria Football Federation in the failed bids of Uzor Orji Kalu and Segun Odegbami for the FIFA presidency. He said that “NFF failed to take a critical decision” on the matter. He said, the glass house should have asked either of the two to step down for the other. This, he said, would enable them get proper support for one of them. He expressed dissatisfaction that Nigeria lost out when the screening of contestants was done.
He also commended a former lawmaker from Delta, Ned Nwoko, for his resolve to establish a Sports University in Idumuje-Ugboko, his home town. He said the initiative would be beneficial to the growth of sports in the country.
