Marcelo Araujo, a 21-year-old father of two has confessed to using a razor blade to slit his pregnant wife’s throat while they were having sex, police in Brazil said.

Araújo confessed during interrogation, that he killed his wife, Francine dos Santos, 22, after they had a quarrel about her becoming pregnant for the third time.
The couple already have two children; a four-year-old daughter, and a son, who is two.
He reportedly admitted that he did not want more children because of the financial burden it placed on him as a young father.
The suspect was found seriously injured after the crime, with cuts to his neck and wrists in their family home in Várzea Paulista, a municipality in the state of São Paulo.
Police said Araujo had apparently tried to commit suicide.

Investigators told Brazilian news outlet, G1, that the father of two made the admission, following more than six weeks of interrogation, during which he gave several versions of what happened.
According to detectives, the suspect claimed that on December 22, 2019, they discussed plans for their family Christmas dinner, but matters escalated and it turned into an argument about the pregnancy.
Shortly after the disagreement, the pair resolved their differences and went for the bedroom to make love.
But during the intimate session, the suspect apparently killed his wife, a make-up artist, stabbing her several times before slitting her throat with a blade.
