A self-acclaimed Ghanaian spiritualist has claimed that he was responsible for the downfall of former Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien.
Speaking in an interview with Arnold Mensah Elavanyo on Vibes in 5, the spiritualist claimed that the former Ghanaian international failed to “fulfill his promise” to him.
“I manage about 50 Ghanaian footballers, some of whom are currently working abroad,” he was quoted as saying.
“However, I was responsible for the demise of the players who did not value my services.
“Essien promised to buy me a house in Accra if I helped him advance in his football career.
“He didn’t keep his promise, so I brought him down.”
Essien was regarded as one of the top African footballers of his generation.
He also played for European giants: Real Madrid and AC Millan.
He won more than 50 caps for Ghana national team.
The 38-year-old is currently a member of the coaching staff of Danish Superliga club, FC Nordsjælland.
