Governor Okowa made this known while speaking at his quarterly media parley with journalists in Asaba, the state capital, on Wednesday.

Providing clarification on his decision, Governor Okowa stated that the dissolution was a way to clear off the distraction of some members, who, he said, are now more focused on their individual ambitions rather than fulfilling their mandate of delivering good governance for the state.
According to him, the state cannot afford to entertain distractions as his administration still has up to May 2023 to deliver its promises to Deltans and develop the state.

“Undoubtedly, we had a great team of men and women that contributed towards our #StrongerDelta vision, however, with more than two years left in this administration, I want a cabinet that is solely focused on delivering on ALL our promises to the people of Delta State,” Okowa said.
