Prior to the sacking of the aides, the president had asked Osinbajo to seek presidential approvals for agencies under his supervision, and also moved the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) from his office to a new ministry.
Also, the Economic Management Team chaired by the vice president was dissolved and replaced with the Economic Advisory Council, placed under the direct purview of the president.
However, in an interview with The Interview magazine published online on Sunday, Buhari described his relationship with Osinbajo as “perfect”.

Asked to rate his relationship with his deputy on a scale of one to ten, Buhari responded:
“Perfect. Or has he complained ed to you.”
Buhari and Osinbajo were elected for second term in office in February, 2019, under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
