Jose Mourinho has disclosed that he lived in the Lowry Hotel during his time in charge of Manchester United, because he does not know how to cook or iron his clothes.
Mourinho took charge at United as manager in May 2016, and he was sacked in December 2018, after losing a Premier League game against Liverpool.
The Portuguese spent 895 days at the hotel instead of buying a house or renting an apartment; the reasons for which he has now come forward to reveal.

The former Chelsea manager was appointed manager at Tottenham Hotspur, following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino last month.
Ahead of his new side’s league trip to his former employers on Wednesday at Old Trafford, Mourinho stated why he stayed at a hotel all through his stay at Manchester.
”I would be unhappy if I was in a house on my own. I would have to clean, I don’t want that. I would have to iron, I don’t know how to.

“I would have to cook. Fried eggs and sausages — that’s the only thing I can do. I would be very unhappy.
“I lived in an amazing apartment, it was not a room. It was mine all the time.
“It was not like after one week I had to leave. No, it was mine. I left everything there, I had my television, my books, my computer.

“It was a flat, with a phone. ‘Bring me a coffee latter, please’ or ‘I don’t want to go down for dinner, bring my dinner up,” he was quoted to have said by UK Sun.
