Professor Ibrahim Gambari, new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has said his primary allegiance will be to his boss and not Nigerians.

Gambari stated this on Wednesday when he spoke briefly to State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, shortly after he was officially confirmed as replacement for the late Abba Kyari.
He thanked Buhari for the privilege to serve in the new capacity, and promised to
serve him to the best of his ability.

“I thank the President of the Federal Republic for giving me the opportunity to serve him and of course, the country”, he said.

“We have not started, I’ll have to find out. I don’t report directly to the nation, I report to the President”.

“My loyalty, competence and support”, saying that his guiding principle in his new office will be “to serve the President to the best of my ability.”
