Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja, governorship candidate of Accord Party in Oyo State, has expressed the desire to occupy the traditional stool of Ibadanland. Ladoja, a former governor of the state, told THE PUNCH in an interview published on Tuesday that he praying to become the Olubadan. “I am number seven in line to the current Olubadan and I pray that one of these days, I will become the Olubadan,” he told THE PUNCH.
Ladoja also took out time to lay into the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who is his cousin. He accused the administration of unnecessary extravagance, claiming that it has made Oyo State worse than it met it. “What has the administration done? We complained about the cost of the Mokola Bridge. We compared it with the bridge done by Governor Ibikunle Amosu In Ogun State and discovered that for every one naira spent by Ogun State, Oyo spent six naira per square metre. Ajimobi’s government is extravagant. The terrain of Mokola, Ibadan, is even better than that of Abeokuta,” he said.
