Joe Igbokwe, special adviser to the Lagos State governor on Drainage and Water Resources, has again spoken out about being neglected by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Thursday, Igbokwe, while reacting to the reception given to Femi Fani-Kayode at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after his defection to the APC, said “despite all my push for APC, Abuja has not given me a phone talk less of inviting me for coffee with the C-in-C. But here is a political charlatan and prostitute being given a red carpet in the seat of power, Abuja.”
He also followed up the post on Facebook by saying his loyalty to the party was being tested.
In another post on Saturday, the aide to governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said he does not mean that President Muhammdu Buhari should give him money, but pick “interest in the life of others” who work for him.
He narrated how Akin Osuntokun, a former aide to ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo, arranged for him and others to meet with the former Nigerian leader, in order to appreciate them for standing up for him.
“When I talk about a receiving a call or talking about taking coffee with the leader it is not all about money or largesse but caring and picking interest in the life of others who work for you . When Akin Osuntokun , a former journalist with the Nation Newspapers was serving OBJ as MD NANS he called all of us standing for OBJ and invited us to Abuja to see Obasanjo. We were about 5 or 6 persons. Some people wanted to disgrace OBJ and we rose and stood with him,” he wrote.
“OBJ gave us grapes and tea, appreciated and thanked us and told us that a lot still needs to be done. Akin paid for our tickets and we left. Appreciation is better than money sometimes. This is the point I am making. Oga Joe Igbokwe has never been a poor man and he is not a poor man by any standard. Ka gba fun leader!!!”
