Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United manager, has hinted that former Super Eagles striker, Jude Ighalo, could make his first Premier League start for the club against Everton on Sunday.
Solskjaer, speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of the game, disclosed that Martial limped off training on Thursday, though he received treatment.
The United boss disclosed that Ighalo is ready to feature against the Tofees at Goodison Park, after scoring his first goal for the club in the 5-0 thrashing of Club Brugge in Europa League round of 32 second-leg on Thursday at Old Trafford.
“Martial went off during yesterday’s training and had treatment,” he was quoted as saying by Manchester United’s official website.
“He reported this morning and had a fitness test.
“It’s not his hamstring, it’s his thigh, in and around the knee.
“Ighalo has shown what type of striker he is. He will be ready for Sunday.”
Martial did not feature in the club’s win over the Belgian side.
