Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho and skipper John Mikel Obi are the notable absentees in coach Gernot Rohr’s 23-man squad for this month’s 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles and international friendly with Egypt.
The list was released on Monday and published on the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Twitter handle.
The quartet of Odion Ighalo, Wilfred Ndidi, Ola Aina and Francis Uzoho, are all making a return to the team after missing the AFCON qualifier against South Africa in November, 2018.

Paul Onuachu of Midtjylland in Denmark and Flying Eagles defender to the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic, Valentine Ozornwafor, are the new players invited by Rohr for the matches.
Other players who made the list are: Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Abdullahi Shehu, Jamilu Collins, John Ogu, Oghenekaro Etebo and Semi Ajayi.
Also in the team are Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru and Samuel Kalu.
The Eagles will take on Seychelles on March 23 in their last 2019 AFCON Group E qualifier before taking on Egypt on March 26.

After missing the 2015 and 2017 AFCONs, the Eagles qualified for this year’s edition following their 1-1 draw against South Africa.
