Keniebi Okoko, a billionaire businessman, has died in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos after the facility suffered a power outage while carrying out a surgery on him.
The hospital, according to The Nation, failed to power its generator, leading to the Ijaw man’s death.
Some reports on Wednesday claimed he had been brought back to life at the morgue after some pastors prayed for him. The claims were later found to be false.
But further findings showed that the claims were fake as prominent Ijaw persons, who belonged to a platform, confirmed his death.
The Nation added that a post on the platform by Dakuku Peterside, a former Rivers State Governorship Candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirmed Okoko’s death.
Okoko, a pastor in one of the Salvation Ministry’s branch in Port Harcourt, hailed from Obunagha in Gbarain, Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. He was Chief Executive Officer (CEO), KDI Oil and Gas Limited.
He was also one of the leading governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last governorship poll in Bayelsa State.
