Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of Aviation, has debunked reports that he is planning to marry a woman for the fifth time.
Fani-Kayode made the clarification in a post on Instagram on Monday, hours after he posted a photograph of him and a woman he identified as Miss Halima Yusuf.
Following the alleged crash of his marriage to an ex-beauty queen, Precious Chikwendu, there were insinuations that the former minister was ready to remarry after he posted the picture with Yusuf.
It is the second time the ex-minister is posing for photographs with her in a matter of days.
But in a post accompanied by a video, Fani-Kayode said Yusuf is not his fiance.
He described the woman as “a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem”.
He urged those peddling the rumour to immediately desist from doing so.
Fani-Kayode has been hosting female friends since news of trouble in his marriage to Chikwendu broke.
Last Friday, his friend Elizabeth Akinmuda flew into the country from Glasgow, Scotland to see him.
Neither Fani-Kayode nor Chikwendu has spoken publicly about the cracks in their marriage.

There have been wild speculations in the social media that I am planning to get married again. This is false. Miss Halima Yusuf, who has been cited as my fiancee, is simply a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem. She, together with others, has been a source of immense comfort for me and mine at this time and for this I am eternally grateful to her. I appeal to all those peddling the falsehood that we are about to get married to please desist from doing so.
