The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has intercepted 42 bags of foreign rice at Kankara axis of Katsina State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Sunday James, the NIS Public Relations Officer, on Saturday.
According to the service, the bags of rice concealed in a vehicle.

It stated that its operatives were on routine patrol along the Kankara axis when they apprehended a vehicle carrying the contraband.
The statement disclosed that Yakubu Umar, the Comptroller NIS Katsina State Command, handed over the 42 bags of rice to the Nigeria Customs Service.
Muhammad Babandede, Comptroller General, NIS, congratulated the officers for a well-coordinated outing and urged them to be more dedicated to the national course and keep the border secured for a safe nation.
