Civil Servants in Imo State are in seventh heaven following the approval by Governor Hope Uzodimma to pay the 13th-month salary as their end-of-the-year bonus.
Governor Uzodimma had on Monday, while speaking at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square (RANKS), announced plans to pay the 13th-month salary as the end-of-year bonus to government workers in the state.
He stated that the payment was in appreciation of the commitment and dedication of the civil servants to duties and steadfastness in the face of prevailing challenges confronting the state.
Still, in the spirit of celebrating Christmas, Governor Uzodinma approved the distribution of food items to every member of the civil service.
These announcements threw the gathered crowd into jubilation as they chorused “Onwa” in admiration of the governor’s gesture.
They expressed their appreciation to the governor for his initiative to continually support civil servants in the state and put a smile on their faces during the yuletide season.
The civil servants also pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the state and promised to remain dedicated in the discharge of their duties
