Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has finally emerged winner of the supplementary election in Adamawa State.
Fintiri, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 9,337 votes beating Senator Aishatu ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 6,513 votes in the supplementary election held on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Fintiri polled 430,861 votes, to defeat Binani who had 398,788 votes.
The election was marred by controversies following the now-suspended Adamawa REC, Yunusa-Ari’s declaration of Aisha Dahiru Binani, as the governor-elect even before the votes had been counted.
