The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has appealed the judgment which sacked Ademola Adeleke as governor of Osun state.
In a notice of appeal filed on Wednesday and seen by Newsbreak Nigeria, INEC listed 44 grounds on which it is appealing the tribunal judgement.
INEC is seeking an order “dismissing the petition of the 1st and 2nd respondents in this appeal as lacking in merit with substantial cost”.
Newsbreak Nigeria reported the the three-man tribunal had sacked Ademola Adeleke as the duly elected governor and ordered INEC to issue a certificate of return to Gboyega Oyetola of the APC.
