Aisha Buhari, the First Lady, has asked her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, and the security chiefs to tackle insecurity in the northern region of the country and “save the people”.
Mrs Buhari made the appeal on Saturday in a video posted on Twitter, accompanied by the Hausa word, #Achechijamaa, which means “save the people”.
The 22-second video shows the images of four military chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police during security meetings with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, and also had a Hausa song playing in the background, calling on the President to save the North.
The song roughly translates to as: “Please look at our condition. We need your help. The North is crying. There is insincerity. Our blood is being spilled. Our property is being destroyed. Intervene in our situation, baba.”

Nigerians across the federation have been protesting for the past 11 days under the #EndSARS movement, clamouring for the scrapping of the now-disbanded Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (F-SARS), as well as an end to police brutality and extortion in the country.
