Amid the worsening insecurity in Ebonyi and Enugu states, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday, warned that Igbo people of Nigeria “may soon react en masse, with a surprising outcome”.
Newsbreak.ng reports that Ejimakor who gave this warning on his known Twitter handle, asked Nigerians to be careful of “the grave implications of non-natives who he said are “freely” invading and killing Igbo people in their homeland.
“#EhaAmufu: Nigeria should be mindful of the grave implications of #Fulani elements FREELY invading & murdering #Ndigbo in their homeland. And with Gen TY Danjuma saying that “the Armed Forces are not neutral”, Ndigbo may soon react en masse, with a surprising outcome,” Ejimakor wrote with an accompanying old video of Theophilus Danjuma, a former Minister of Defence, asking Nigerians to defend themselves against killers.
This news medium reports that a yet-to-be-ascertained number of people were reportedly killed in the troubled Ebor, Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State on Sunday allegedly by armed herdsmen and their collaborators.
Sources revealed that the invaders who reportedly outnumbered the soldiers and local vigilantes, launched the attack early Sunday morning, and killed several people.
Also, a Nigerian news outlet reported on Tuesday that troops of the Nigerian Army invaded Nkalaha community in Ishielu local government of Ebonyi State on Monday morning which led to residents fleeing the community in droves.
Nkalaha is a neighbouring community to the violence-laden Ebor, Umujiovu, and Mgbuji communities in Eha-Amufu Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu State.
The military invasion of Nkalaha community has allegedly forced residents of the community and Eha-Amufu Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to flee from the soldiers and the herdsmen to Enugu town and Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
