The outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has dismissed President Muhammadu Buhari’s allegation that the group is behind most pipeline vandalism in Nigeria.

Newsbreak reports that IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary who has the pseudonym, Emma Powerful, rubbished Buhari’s claims while speaking to the press.

President Buhari had once again asked Nigeria’s western allies to proscribe IPOB as a terrorist organisation.

He made the remarks in a recent interview with Bloomberg.

Responding to Buhari’s allegation, Powerful stated according to Punch that it was “funny” and “laughable.”

According to him, the group’s only interest was the actualisation of the “Biafra freedom struggle” and nothing else.

He said IPOB’s leadership was studying Buhari’s comments and would respond to him appropriately.
