Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly called Iyanya, has been dragged to court by the Police Special Fraud Uint, Ikoyi, over an alleged car theft.
PUNCH reports that the ‘Kukere’ singer was on Tuesday arraigned before Justice Okikiolu-Ighile of an Igbosere High Court.

In the charge sheet marked, LD/9024C/2019, the musician was accused of the conversion of a vehicle to his own.
Chukwu Agwu, the prosecution counsel, alleged that the singer committed the offence sometimes in September 2018.
The police alleged that Iyanya “dishonestly converted to your own use or use of another person a black Toyota Landcruiser Prado Jeep with Chassis Number: JTEBX7FJ7EK165480, Engine Number: 2TRI385954 and Registration Number: MAVINIY, property of The Temple Management Company Limited, represented by one Ayodeji Olomojobi, Esq.”

Agwu further told the court that the said vehicle belongs to the Iyanya’s former management company, The Temple Management Company Ltd.
The singer, however, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him. Justice Okikiolu-Ighile subsequently released him to his lawyer and adjourned till February 27 and March 17, for ruling on his bail application and commencement of trial.
