US rapper, Shawn Corey Carter, popularly known as Jay Z, has left his followers surprised after deactivating his Instagram account barely 24hours after re-opening the Instagram platform.
Jay Z opened an account, pushed a poster for a movie and shared a countdown for its premiere.
He shared the cover photo of “The Harder They Fall”, a new western movie released on Netflix which he co-produced. His profile photo was a throwback photo to his younger days.
However, now that the film is out, Jay-Z’s social work may just apparently be done but at the time of the page deactivation.
The rapper had already had over 2.3 million followers before he deactivated it. He only followed one person, his wife. Beyoncé.
Beyoncé also shared Jay-Z’s first-ever Instagram story, which was a countdown to the film’s premiere.
A visit to his Instagram page is met with the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”
This was not the first time Jay Z opened and promptly closed an Instagram account.
In the summer of 2015, he also reportedly launched a short-lived page with the name @hovsince96 and shared a photo with Michael Jackson.
However, the rapper deleted the page 14 hours later.
This occurrence has left many fans who had considered keeping themselves Updated on the billionaire Roc Nation mogul, might just be a phenomenal task and rather be pointless.
