The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Saturday said it had arrested a 37 year-old vulcaniser for allegedly stealing three bags of rice.
The NSCDC commandant in the state, Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse that the suspect (name withheld)was arrested in Arawa village of Auyo local government area.
Gidado said that the suspect,along with an accomplice now at large,connived and stole the three bags of 100 kg local rice from the residence of one Malam Baita around 2am on Saturday,Sept. 5.
He explained that some vigilant members of the community who noticed the presence of the suspects at that odd hour, alerted his staff operating in the area.
The commandant said the corps had launched a man-hunt to arrest the other suspect.
He said that they would be charged to court when investigations are completed.
