Joe Igbokwe, an aide to Lagos State governor, has mocked Oduduwa Republic agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, over his arrest in Benin Republic.
Igbokwe said Igboho’s arrest is an indication that “Juju” does not work.
Sharing a photograph of Igboho wearing charms on his Facebook wall, the politician said charms failed in Igboland, referring to the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and has also failed in Yorubaland.
“Juju no de work again ooo. It failed in Igbo land and it failed too in Yoruba land,” he wrote.
Igboho has led rallies in Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, and Ogun States, calling for an independent Yoruba nation.
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), raided his house in the Ibadan area of Oyo State on July 1, but he escaped.
He was afterwards declared wanted by the nation’s secret police.
The activist was, however, arrested on Monday evening at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport in Cotonou, Benin Republic, while trying to fly from the country to Germany.
