Ivorian international, Wilfried Zaha scored the match’s solitary goal to hand Crystal Palace a one nil win, and in the process relegate Watford in their English Premier League (EPL) game played at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Newsbreak reports.
The Hornets have struggled all season and their return to the Championship was confirmed on Saturday.
Their defeat to Patrick Vieira’s side – their 25th of the EPL season – ensured they will finish in the bottom three this campaign.
Their third manager of the season, Roy Hodgson, was unable to save them.
William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Kalu, Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Maduka Okoye (expected to join them permanently this summer) are the Super Eagles players on the books of Watford.
There is also Tom Dele-Bashiru, who was part of the Nigeria national under-20 football team in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland. Although, the 22-year-old has never represented the Super Eagles.
