Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday thanked his supporters in Oyo State.
Newsbreak.ng reports that the five aggrieved PDP governors, referred to as G-5, were on Thursday greeted with surprise in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, during the official launch of Governor Makinde’s second term bid, as shouts of the party’s presidential candidate’s name rented the air, to the embarrassment of the rebel governors, including the host, Makinde.
Recall that the governors had fallen out with their party’s leadership over their demand for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu as the National Chairman of the PDP. Consequently, they didn’t support Atiku.
Oyo State, I heard you loud and clear yesterday. I take it warmly as a vote of confidence in me and our great party, @OfficialPDPNig. You proved that my love for the Pace-Setter State over the years is not in vain.
